Aiyo, I just checked twitter and I see that there is a picie and it was dated around the time of the show. Sorry, I hope the video wasn't posted on here anywhere.
I became a fan of the band about a week and a half ago. I'm watching all these videos of mostly I Melt With You, but slowly making my way to other songs. I'm going through the Mesh And Lace album right now. I hope to go to the record store some time and hope I can find and buy a copy of Mesh And Lace, After The Snow and Ricochet Days on vinyl. I think my nephew will probably take it away from me though. With all the amazing technology, it's really surprising and quite amazing how many kids still want a vinyl copy of music, especially if it's an 80s band like M E.
So far I like the songs Just A Thought, 16 days, Someone's Calling, Gathering Dust & Tables Turning. It's exciting for me listening to music I haven't heard before from M E and wondering what the experience must have been like for them ^^
I was contemplating on posting this part but just in case someone says to me, "Fu really? That was an ok lah performance" I watched an indie band play The Horseshoe Tavern (a famous venue in T O that graced a lot of great legendary bands. The only one I can think of is Stephen Duffy at the moment) I got a chance to talk to the bass player, I said they were amazing and he mentioned to me all the touch ups he could have done during the show. I did notice and the nervousness of the band to play in such a legendary venue but didn't want to say anything because I love the song and see them live giving it their best to me was amazing. I hope M E or anyone else doesn't really come down hard on themselves and just plays their best and enjoy because someone like me sees it and appreciates that great music being played even though when I'm part of the audience, I usually just stand there and watch x) I really am having a good time ^^
I think Robbie gets his energy from an audience that is energized. I've seen the videos and many others of I Melt With You TOO many times in the past week and a half and I giggle every time I see him mouth silently to the audience, "c o m e o n" because I'm sure M E were recording it live for the radio too x) Sorry Robbie, the shoegazers and wallflowers have taken over for a bit ^^
About the videos, the first one had a good back drop, so the videographers had something to work with, but it still was shot really well and the sound was really good. The KFog was probably a real challenge for them since it was in a looked like production room, but the videographers still manage to make the band look glamorous when they played. The way they shot to the guitars, bass, drums, Steve doing his classic dance moves with indoor slippers on x) It's all amazing
Thank you to all who video tapes M E 's live performances and things. I really love watching all of them. I can't wait to be in the audience someday. I hope Robbie and the rest of M E blows the audience a kiss even if we are wallflowering x)
