I have just been contacted by the band with details of their plans for recording while in Orlando later this week. As well as the three gigs they will be playing they have also booked some studio time to record three of their new songs; - Moonbeam (which was performed at the last tour) - Come Out Of Your Hole (described as spatious with hints of Massive Attack) - Wait For Me (Upbeat, Modern English goes pop)
As well as these the band also plan to record their full current live set in the studio. This means that as well as fresh, live re-recordings of their most well know tracks they will also be recording their reworked versions of their early material and will include for the first time ever a Modern English studio recording of their encore segued 'Sixteen Days/Gathering Dust'.
They also have three other new songs which they hope to work on as well. They've promised to let me know how it went when they get back next week so watch this thread!

This week I've had an email from Mick Conroy to confirm that the band have recorded live in the studio their current live set list, so that should be:
Someone's Calling After The Snow Tables Turning Swans On Glass Black Houses Life in the Gladhouse Move In Light Hands Across The Sea Sixteen Days - Gathering Dust I Melt With You
I have also been told that they have also recorded four new songs. Though the titles haven't been confirmed yet it is very likely to include Moonbeam and probably Come Out of Your Hole and Wait For Me but the fourth track title is as yet unknown. Mick recieved the tapes from these recordings this week and will be mixing them over the next few weeks. Exciting times!
Absolutely Cannot Wait to Hear the New Tracks PLUS the re-recorded old material! Last few concerts i went to the older songs sounded phenomenal with all the original lineup! The live sound put all the past albums to shame because the band sounded so fresh and new but with the old songs! Again, can't wait to hear all of these songs! Think they will be separate albums or a double album? In any case sounds excellent!

To update you I was dropped a line by Mick a few days ago who said that the re-recorded live set is currently being mixed at the Orlando studio so should be ready in the next couple of months. Then it's down to the band to decide how to release them. I've heard a demo mix of 'Someone's Calling' and it sounds absolutely amazing and I have to admit that IMHO it's even better than the original. Vital and energetic and totally captures the live vibe.
Richard! That's what i thought when i heard them in concert under the original band members! They played all the old songs and sounded SO FRESH AND NEW! I even mentioned to them way back in 2010 to re-record them, maybe they took it to heart and actually this is the result? I can only fathom, LOL...haha, again, utter glee and cannot wait to hear, do you know who is producing these albums? On a side note, think the band will re-release their back catalogue and maybe even with extras? I'd throw a party if this is the case also...Big Cheers! P.S. i updated the website to reflect a few new things, odds n ends n things
